LDC Volunteer Spotlight: Jaqueline Valota
We are so excited to launch this new segment, our Volunteer Spotlight, this month featuring an incredibly talented, giving and super sweet human, Jaqueline Valota, known to us as Jaque!
Jaque has been volunteering her time and expertise with the Livingston Diversity Council for a little over a year and her contributions have been immeasurable!
Let's learn a little about Jaque:
Jaque was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and met her now husband, Vini Marcelino, in Aracaju in 2011. After beginning her college education at Washtenaw Community College, Jaque transferred to Cleary University in the fall of 2019. She became the marketing intern in the fall of 2021 and then completed her Bachelors degree in marketing in 2023 at which time she also served as Captain of the Cleary Women's Soccer Team and was married to Vini on May 25, 2023. Jaque is now completing her graduate degree in business leadership and working part time as the social media manager for Imply by Design.
With her creative background and seemingly boundless and fun energy, Jaque has contributed many, many hours of her time the the LDC as a graphic designer, marketing consultant and photographer. Jaque was instrumental in designing the logo and identity of our newest annual event Cultura (scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024) that we co-host with the Livingston Arts Council. Have you seen any of our event flyers or social media graphics in the past year? Yep, most of those were designed by Jaque as well! In addition to all of that, Jaque almost always makes herself available as a photographer to help us capture our events in still photo and video.
No words can adequately express how very appreciative we are of all of Jaque's time, talent and energy - thank you Jaque for your contributions to the Livingston Diversity Council!
