Chess Tournament

“Do you have the right moves?
Don’t be a pawn to ageism”

Checkmate!
Come and take part in the Livingston Diversity Council’s chess tournament on
August 22nd, at the Howell Carnegie Library.

The chess tournament will comprise of two different divisions: Rated and Unrated.

The Unrated (beginners) tournament: 5 games, Swiss style, 30 mins. each.
Trophies to 1st-10th with medals to all participants!

The Rated tournament : Guaranteed Prize Fund $1000, 4-round,Swiss Style, 45 mins. (or 40 min w/ 5 sec delay)
Classes/Prizes: Open-$300/$250/ 150, Under 1800-$250/$200/$100, Under 100- $200/$150/$100 (USCF and MCA Membership required go to www.uschess.org and www.michess.org to purchase)

Chess is a great and exciting way to educate one another on how people of different ages come together and compete as equals. So, bring the whole family to participate in the fun, and remember to bring your best “moves”!

Time: Registration for both tournaments begins at 8:00am and ends promptly at 9:30.
Unrated Tournament Begins: 10:30AM
Rated Tournament Begins: 10:00AM

Tournament Fees:
Unrated Tournament: $15 online before Aug. 17th / $20 on-site
Rated Tournament: $20 online before Aug. 17th / $35 on-site
